I had a pretty bad week with work so I was so looking forward to the weekend. Me and Mr went to see Chris Isaak on Saturday night at Wolverhampton Civic Center. My first album Forever Blue was a gift from a friend 10 years ago, and ever since I was hooked on Mr Isaak. It was such a treat to watch him live, even hubby enjoyed every moment of it. He commented on how great Chris was to 'engage' with his audience. Funniest part was when Chris said along the line of "I know you folks were told that you were not allowed to take your camera or pictures out there when you got in,... but I didn't dress up like this not to have my pictures taken" - we earlier commented how annoying to go to some gigs/concert and now allowed to take a few pics of your favourite artist as a momento. So we thought that was such a nice considerate thing he did.
And just as I thought things could not have been better with escalations of one after another awesome performance, Chris flicked something before he left the stage onto the audience, hitting straight onto my chest then onto the floor - hubby picked it up and it was his yellow guitar pick! I know he has probably done the same gimmicks with every concert for decades. Nevertheless all the credit to Mr Isaak, he sure knows how to make the fan feels special. Certainly made me grin all the way home :D. Shame we had to rush back home that evening, would have stick around with some others to meet the man himself for an autograph (or two!). Hopefully there'll be a next time ;).
Hilarious, genuine legendary superstar. Chris Isaak, you rock my world!
